Tires and brakes
- For recommended tire pressure, look for the label on the driver's
side doorjamb. If you can't find the sticker, a good rule of thumb is to keep tires
between 28 - 32 psi.
- Uneven tire wear is caused by improper tire inflation (too much or
too little air), a car out of alignment, or bad shock absorbers or struts.
- To test to see if your tires need alignment, rest your hands gently
on the steering wheel and see if the car continues to travel in a straight line without
your steering help. If your car consistently drifts to one side, get your wheels aligned!
- The brake light will not come on to tell you it's time to get new
brakes: either you left the parking brake on, or you are low on brake fluid.
